Mine on Monday {7/26/10}

July 26, 2010

Good Monday morning to you all! It’s been a few weeks since I posted my last mine on Monday so this is going to be a big one! Last week we had a big t-storm that came roaring through our neck of the woods and knocked out powered for about 6 hours or so. The kids were freaking out so we did our best to keep them entertained. After the storm rolled through they threw on their swimsuits and headed outside for some splashing fun! It was funny, they were soaking wet in just minutes. But they had a blast, so it was worth it. Actually they’re still talking about it, a week later so you know that means it was fun. LOL! Enjoy!

This morning I had a fun session with the “P” family. Let me tell you, we shot at 9:00 am and it was already unbearably HOT! Like sweat dripping, super gross hot! Thanks guys, you were such troopers. I didn’t hear one complaint the entire session. It was fun hanging with you guys even in this miserable weather. Here’s a few to peek at for now, enjoy!

The beautiful Miss. C – looking so grown up.

This giggle, actually made me laugh out loud at my computer when I saw it! To me, this is the quintessential little girl shot!

And last but not least, the whole adorable family!

Happy Friday everyone! Am I the only one loving this less humid weather? I mean seriously, that humidity was killer! It was so nice not to have sleep with the a/c on last night. The kids were actually commenting that it was cold this morning. LOL! Anyway, sorry the blog has been slow. I’ve been busy with lots of behind the scenes work, like some cool new products and some fun things for the holidays. (Yes, don’t hate me, but I am thinking about Christmas already. LOL!) Stay tuned I promise to keep the blog hopping in the next few weeks with lots of fun posts and of course loads of sneak peeks too. Now let’s get started with toady’s Fashion Friday, here’s a good example of a “modern” fall family look. Stay tuned in the coming weeks as I feature a “classic” fall family look as well as a “funky” fall family look. Have a great day!

P.S. Gap is running a sale right now, FREE shipping and 25% off B2S stuff so don’t miss it. It’s a great chance to get a fabulous look for your upcoming session.

If you  follow the blog you will most likely recognize the family from my session today. The “D” family were one of my very first clients when I started my business just about two years ago. I remember coming home from their session so excited and filled with joy. It was right then, in that moment, I knew for sure I was doing what I was meant to do. So as you can imagine, these guys hold a very special place and in my heart. I look forward to their annual session each year hoping to make it as fun and fabulous as the previous one. This year, once again was great. We started our session walking around, talking and hanging out, then things got a bit sticky, LOL! After that we moved on to a fun bike ride and ended our session with some cool drinks on this hot day! Thank you guys once again for a fabulous session and for choosing me to photograph your family.  It’s truly an honor. Enjoy!

“Hanging out with this wonderful family is always a blast!”

“Bubblicious”

“Ahhhhhhhh, refreshing!”

Last night, I had a fun session with the “S” family. I have photographed these guys a few times in the past and they are always a joy to work with and last night was no exception. We started our session having some fun with Dad’s vintage 1970’s car. Then we grabbed some more traditional family shots and a few shots of Miss. H with her cool chickens. Then we moved on to a few more pics of Mom with their new Shelby.  Thanks again guys for having me, it’s always fun hanging out with you guys. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek for now. I’ll be in touch soon. Enjoy!

The whole family

We had some fun with Dad’s cool vintage 1970’s car. ( I processed this with a vintage feel for added effect.)

And last, for Miss. “H”, because I knew you’d be anxious to see this one! Enjoy!

I have to start this post by saying, I AM NOT a wedding photographer and don’t do these type of sessions. If you are getting married and looking for a wedding photographer or are already married (as in this case) and looking to do some trash the dress pictures, I’d be happy to refer you to a colleague of mine. That being said, last week my sister and her hubby celebrated their one year anniversary and wanted to commemorate the occasion with some trash the dress style pics. So how could I say no, right?

And like I mentioned, the bride “J” is my sister so she had TONS of ideas about what she wanted from this session. (Which was nice, made my job easy. LOL!) So we started this session at their home, did some fun shots on an antique tractor, then did a cake smash (grown up style) with their wedding cake, then we headed to the local garage where the groom “M” works for some fun shots with a vintage Ford and finally we ended our session at the lake for some fun in the water. All in all it was a blast, thanks guys! Enjoy your sneak peek for now. I’ll be in touch soon with the rest. Love ya! ;)

This morning I had the pleasure of photographing sweet baby “M”, her big sis “A” and their lovely mama.  At 7 days old, M is still a peanut weighing in just over 6lbs
but she is oh, so gorgeous. She has the most striking little features and lots of great hair. Anyway, I could go on and on but I know you all just want to see the pics,
so, without further ado, here are just a few of my faves. Enjoy and thanks again for a great morning ladies!

Isn’t she just gorgeous?

LOVE this one with her beautiful mama!

And one of the whole family.

Just wanted to pop on to quickly remind you all that I am now booking for FALL. I realize in this disgusting heat it’s hard to believe but, nonetheless it’s true. Spots are filling really fast and availability is already limited. Please contact me ASAP if you want a fall session before it’s too late.

A&R turn one!

July 10, 2010

I had a blast this afternoon at my session with A&R! These adorable twin girls just celebrated their big FIRST birthday! We had planned on shooting at a local park but this crazy weather had other plans. Mom & dad are troopers and rolled with the punches when I suggested we shoot inside at their parent’s house, a.k.a. Grammy & Grampy’s house.  (BTW, thanks Grammy & Grampy for letting use your house!) And man it was totally worth it, we had such an AMAZING session. We started our session with a tea party, then we moved on to some adorable customized cookies which had the girls initials on them. (In case you are wondering, mom scored them at her local Hallmark.) Then the rain let up so we headed outside for a bit more fun and ended our session with a super fun cake smash. Because seriously, it wouldn’t be a first birthday without a cake smash, right? LOL! Thanks again guys, it’s always a blast hanging with you all. Here’s a little tease for now. Enjoy!

“How’s your cookie?”                     –                     “Good, how’s yours?”

“DELICIOUS!”

“TOTALLY!”
