Hey everyone! Morgan here for my first official blog post as a high school senior. Thanks to Hurricane Irene, I’ve only been in school for about 3 weeks, but it feels like I’ve been back for months. The biggest thing going through all seniors’ minds is applying for college. Personally, I am stressing out. Touring, applying, applying for scholarships, and so much more. It all gets to be overwhelming. Right now I’m still looking at colleges and trying to decide where I want to apply. Very soon I’ll be starting the actual applications. I know many people who have already started applying, but I also know a lot of people who haven’t started applying as well. I feel like I’m falling behind, but I still have time. I am just hoping to get my applications in for early decision, which means applying by November first. If I do apply this way, I should know if I am accepted by Christmas. Merry Christmas to me! I’m lucky because my mom is helping a lot with the whole process, making it much less stressful. I know the hardest part of going away to college is going to be leaving my parents. If they had it their way, I would stay as close as possible or commute from home. I can’t wait for the college experience though. I need to live in a dorm with a roommate, have all the freedom of a college student. While I get extremely nervous talking about college, I’ve always known that I want to go away and have my own college adventure. Right now though, it’s my senior year! Yes, I’ll be thinking of college. However, I’m going to make sure my senior year is fun and memorable. Everyone says that high school is the best four years of your life, so I’m not going to waste it!
